Orders are usually dispatched for delivery within the above quoted processing time after your payment has cleared. Courier transit time once dispatched is usually 3-5 working days, depending on our courier partner’s routes and workloads. Outlying regions may take a couple of days longer for delivery. Please remember that couriers do not deliver on weekends or public holidays. We will notify you on the dispatch of your order to our courier partner indicating your order tracking number. If you are provided with a delivery PIN (digital signature) for your shipment, please treat this securely – do not provide the PIN to anyone unless you are in receipt of your package, provision of this number to your delivery person will sanction parcel delivery.

Orders are sent via standard economy shipping; applies within the territory of the Republic of South Africa to street addresses routinely serviced by our national courier. Bulky and/or heavier items attract a delivery surcharge, total shipping fees will be indicated at checkout.

Remote Areas – Delivery to certain outlying addresses may not be possible or may attract additional delivery surcharges – in this instance we will contact you to discuss delivery options.

Special Delivery Areas – Delivery to special delivery areas may attract extra delivery surcharges. Special delivery areas include: Mines, Power stations, Plots, farms, remote areas, military bases, Game lodges, Port / Harbours, Embassies and Consulates.

In order to avoid these additional remote and/or special area delivery surcharges, you can supply us with an alternative delivery address to your billing address. If you are using a ‘care of’ delivery address, please provide the name and contact telephone number of the person receiving the delivery for you in town.

Bulk Orders – We reserve the right to re-quote delivery costs on bulk orders that attract excessive delivery charges from our courier.

International Orders – Please contact us before ordering if you require delivery outside of the Republic of South Africa so that we can quote you on overseas delivery rates.

Made to Order Items – Some products will indicate that they are “Made to Order” – these are made to order by our supplier and, as such, can take longer to be dispatched. If you require a more accurate timeframe for a made to order item, please contact us before ordering.

Special Order Items – Your order will be shipped to South Africa, expected lead times will vary – please contact us for the latest estimated timeframe. Shipping times are an estimate only due to the nature of international freight shipping. Once the stock arrives in South Africa, your order is expected to be fulfilled as above. We will endeavor to keep you updated in this process as information becomes available.

Before you finalise your order, you have the option to indicate any specific delivery instructions in the “order notes” field. We will pass these on to our courier partner for their information.

The Lory is a robust multipurpose device for use in industrial access and sport climbing applications. Its functionality spans the range from rope access and rescue descender device through semi-automatic belay device to rope positioning and retention device for use on rooftops and edges.

The Lory has two subtypes; this subtype, the Anthron Lory Smart, features impeded movement of the cam making it suitable for sport and industrial applications. Cam rotation impediment aids in feeding rope to the lead climber. By pulling the working end of the rope the cam engages and jams the rope. By pulling the handle the cam gradually releases the rope. If the handle is pulled down to its terminal position the double-stop function is triggered which blocks the rope again. To resume descending, return the handle in closed position and restart the process.

Features

Handles a much wider range of rope diameters than other similar device – from 9mm to 11.4mm – thereby providing versatility allowing one to use the right rope for the job
If the release handle is pulled too hard the unit locks; making it almost impossible to drop someone while lowering them. The unit only lowers if the handle is kept in a mid range position – which also makes abseiling much safer.
The cam can be pushed into a “locked” position at any stage, which enables the user to easily lock it in position for work positioning or work restraint purposes.

The unit can be pre-loaded & then locked with a maillon – which makes it very suitable for inclusion in emergency evacuation kits – especially when the user is not that familiar with abseiling.
For the industrial/ rescue operative, its certainly easier to use & more secure than a many popular alternatives out there – and lighter & more compact.
The unit is approximately the same size as a PDA (large cell phone) and is made largely of steel (handle included) which serves to enhance its durability.
