Orders placed outside of working hours (evenings, weekends, public holidays) will begin processing the following business day.

Orders are usually dispatched for delivery within the above quoted processing time after your payment has cleared. Courier transit time once dispatched is usually 1-5 business days, depending on our courier partner’s routes and workloads. Outlying regions may take a couple of days longer for delivery. Please remember that couriers do not deliver on weekends or public holidays. We will notify you on the dispatch of your order to our courier partner indicating your order tracking number. If you are provided with a delivery PIN (digital signature) for your shipment, please treat this securely – do not provide the PIN to anyone unless you are in receipt of your package, provision of this number to your delivery person will sanction parcel delivery.

Orders are sent via standard economy shipping; applies within the territory of the Republic of South Africa to street addresses routinely serviced by our national courier.

Remote Areas – Delivery to certain outlying addresses may not be possible or may attract additional delivery surcharges – in this instance we will contact you to discuss delivery options.

Special Delivery Areas – Delivery to special delivery areas may attract extra delivery surcharges. Special delivery areas include: Mines, Power stations, Plots, farms, remote areas, military bases, Game lodges, Port / Harbours, Embassies and Consulates.

In order to avoid these additional remote and/or special area delivery surcharges, you can supply us with an alternative delivery address to your billing address. Bulk Orders – We reserve the right to re-quote delivery costs on bulk orders that attract excessive delivery charges from our courier.

International Orders – Please contact us before ordering if you require delivery outside of the Republic of South Africa so that we can quote you on overseas delivery rates.

Made to Order Items – Some products will indicate that they are “Made to Order” – these are made to order by our supplier and, as such, can take longer to be dispatched. If you require a more accurate timeframe for a made to order item, please contact us before ordering.

Special Order Items – Your order will be shipped to South Africa, expected lead times will vary – please contact us for the latest estimated timeframe. Shipping times are an estimate only due to the nature of international freight shipping. Once the stock arrives in South Africa, your order is expected to be fulfilled as above. Nikwax Tech Wash is the market leader; it has been specifically designed and optimized for breathable waterproof fabrics.
Nikwax Tech Wash is a highly effective cleaner. Additionally it will revitalize existing Durable Water Repellency (DWR) and revive breathability. It is the safe way to thoroughly clean your waterproof clothing and equipment.

Breathable waterproof garments are most likely to get sweaty and wet inside when used in damp or wet conditions. If the outer fabric absorbs water, the garment can lose up to 70% of its breathability. Therefore, the Durable Water Repellency (DWR) on the outer fabric of your jacket must be maintained to ensure comfort. Nikwax Tech Wash will revitalize the DWR and therefore breathability of your garment.

WHY YOU SHOULD USE IT:

Your waterproof clothing and equipment could be soaking up water because the Durable Water Repellency (DWR) has been compromised by dirt, or because it has been cleaned with a conventional laundry detergent. Dirt attracts water and household detergents leave water attracting (hydrophilic) residues, leading to fabric wetting out in wet or damp conditions.
If your waterproof clothing or equipment is relatively new, or recently treated with a Nikwax waterproofer, then cleaning with Nikwax Tech Wash will not only remove contaminants, such as dirt and residues left behind by household detergents, but also revitalize DWR.

WHEN YOU SHOULD USE IT:

Conventional laundry detergents leave behind a water attractive (hydrophilic) residue which masks the Durable Water Repellency (DWR), causing fabrics to absorb water and wet out in damp or wet conditions. Therefore, they need to be avoided when cleaning waterproof clothing and equipment.
Products that claim to clean and waterproof at the same time are generally not very effective cleaners and may seal in dirt.
Use Nikwax Tech Wash to thoroughly clean your waterproof clothing and equipment safely, revitalize DWR and breathability.

HOW YOU SHOULD USE IT:

In the Machine:

Use undiluted Tech Wash and a sponge, or soft nylon brush, to treat stubborn stains before washing. Remove all non-washable parts. Shake well before use. Follow care label instructions. Do not use detergents.

Top Loading Machine Wash:
1. Place maximum 6 garments in washing machine.
2. After the machine has filled, 5fl.oz / 150ml for 1-3 garments, 8fl.oz / 250ml for 4-6 garments. Add an additional 50ml for hard water* areas.
3. Set cycle to Heavy and Warm. 1-3 items: low water level, 4-6 items: medium water level.

Front Loading Machine Wash:
1. Remove all detergent from detergent dispenser.
2. Place maximum of 2 garments in washing machine.
3. Add 3fl.oz / 100ml of Tech Wash. Add an additional 50ml for hard water* areas.
4. Set cycle to Synthetics and Warm (30°C).

* If you have calcium and mineral deposits in your washing machine you have hard water.

By Hand:

Use gloves.

1. Immerse item(s) in 6L hand-hot water in sink or bowl.
2. Use 2fl.oz / 50ml per item in soft water areas. Add an additional 50ml per garment in hard water* areas.
3. Agitate to mix.
4. Rinse 3 times in clean water.

* If you have calcium and mineral deposits in your washing machine you have hard water.
For extreme hard water use 200ml.

If the item doesnt require re-waterproofing, air dry or tumble dry on a low setting if care label allows.

If you intend to re-waterproof the washed item there is no need to dry it first.
