The Scarpa Drago is a highly sensitive climbing shoe designed for technical hooks and precise movements
The Scarpa Drago is a high-performance climbing shoe designed for climbers who prioritise sensitivity, precision and flexibility. Its slipper-style construction and extensive rubber coverage on both the toe and heel make it suitable for a wide range of hooking techniques, including toe hooks and heel hooks.
Made in Asolo, Italy, the Drago features an asymmetrical, downturned shape with a medium-to-high angled toe box, providing enhanced toe sensitivity for technical foot placements.
The seven-piece upper combines microfiber and leather, with seams positioned to avoid overlap for improved comfort. A two-point Velcro closure system connected to the buckle allows precise adjustment, while an internal elastic gusset improves entry and fit adaptability.
Scarpa’s PCB-Tension System provides flexibility while helping the shoe maintain its shape, while the SRT system uses M50 rubber to enhance toe hook performance. A minimal 1 mm Flexan insert increases sensitivity in the toe area.
The sole features Vibram® XS GRIP 2 rubber across one-third of the shoe length with a 3.5 mm thickness, combined with a handcrafted 2 mm XS GRIP 2 heel for grip during demanding climbing movements.
