Orders are usually dispatched for delivery within the above quoted processing time after your payment has cleared. Courier transit time once dispatched is usually 1-5 business days, depending on our courier partner’s routes and workloads. Outlying regions may take a couple of days longer for delivery. Please remember that couriers do not deliver on weekends or public holidays. We will notify you on the dispatch of your order to our courier partner indicating your order tracking number. If you are provided with a delivery PIN (digital signature) for your shipment, please treat this securely – do not provide the PIN to anyone unless you are in receipt of your package, provision of this number to your delivery person will sanction parcel delivery.

Orders are sent via standard economy shipping; applies within the territory of the Republic of South Africa to street addresses routinely serviced by our national courier.

Special Order Items – Your order will be shipped to South Africa, expected lead times will vary – please contact us for the latest estimated timeframe. Shipping times are an estimate only due to the nature of international freight shipping. Once the stock arrives in South Africa, your order is expected to be fulfilled as above. Nikwax TX Direct Spray On is the easy to use, safe, high performance spray on waterproofing for wet weather clothing.

Nikwax TX.Direct Spray-On is a safe product to use on breathable waterproof items with wicking linings, or those that can’t be machine washed. It is WaterBased, non-flammable, contains no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and is fluorocarbon free. Nikwax TX.Direct Spray-On can be applied to the outer face fabric of waterproof clothing, providing Durable Water Repellency (DWR) without compromising internal wicking properties. It has been specifically designed and optimized for breathable waterproof clothing, providing DWR while maintaining breathability.

Breathable waterproof garments are most likely to get sweaty and wet inside when used in damp or wet conditions. If the outer fabric absorbs water, the garment can lose up to 70% of its breathability. Therefore, the Durable Water Repellency (DWR) on the outer fabric of your jacket must be maintained to ensure comfort. It will eventually wear off and need to be renewed with Nikwax TX.Direct.

WHY YOU SHOULD USE IT:

Your raingear could be soaking up water just because it is dirty. First, try cleaning it with Nikwax Tech Wash, and if it is fairly new, or recently re-waterproofed, the Durable Water Repellency (DWR) will be revitalized just from cleaning. But, once the garment has been thoroughly worn, you will need to add DWR, using Nikwax TX.Direct, after cleaning first with Nikwax Tech Wash.

WHEN YOU SHOULD USE IT:

When we work hard, we sweat. The evaporation of sweat cools us down and keeps us comfortable. But, when it rains we want to avoid getting wet, so we put on waterproof outerwear to keep us dry.
The waterproof fabric must allow moisture vapour to pass through it, or breathe; otherwise our sweat cannot evaporate, causing us to overheat and get wet from condensation. Additionally, if the outer fabric of your garment absorbs water and wets out its breathability will be reduced, causing you to feel clammy and wet.
Nikwax TX.Direct adds Durable Water Repellency (DWR), which prevents water absorption, whilst maintaining breathability, keeping you dry and comfortable.

HOW YOU SHOULD USE IT:

For best results remove all non-washable parts and always clean item(s) first with Nikwax Tech Wash. No need to dry item(s) before waterproofing.

Protect working surface and lay clean garment flat and zip up all zippers.
Hold bottle 15 cm/6 inches away from garment.
Apply evenly to outside of fabric.
Wait for 2 minutes. Remove any surplus product with a damp cloth.
Check carefully to ensure no areas have been missed.
After several minutes check for and remove any surplus product with a damp cloth.
Air dry or tumble dry on a low setting if care label allows.
